first results from 2nd firing

I was only able to remove a few pieces from my second firing (the first having been a success) yesterday morning as the bottom of the kiln was still smouldering red hot and even with thick protective gauntlets it was too hot to remove the items. But so far so good, interesting subtle colours and even some iron oxide staining from the rhododendron fertilizer!
